< TASK 1 > Read the articles (1) to (3). And figure out which article they come from. Answer A, B, or C.

(1) Q: 3 buckets have a capacity of 8 liters, 5 liters and 3 liters, but no volume markings. The first bucket is filled to capacity and the goal is to evenly divide the water between two buckets (4 liters each). Since the only way to do the job accurately is to completely fill and empty buckets, what is the least number of pours that would be required to divide water? A: The least number of pours to divide 8 liters of water among two buckets, when you have an 8, a 5 and a 3 liter bucket, is 7 pours.

(2) Sailing through the Tonga Archipelago in August 2006, the crew of the yacht `Maiken' witnessed the birth of a new island --- volcanic action pushed land slowly above sea level right before their eyes!

(3) When Luis Carlos de Noronha Carral da Camara of Portugal wrote his will, he named 17 strangers as heirs, all selected at random from the Lisbon phone book!
